Washington DC, July 31: The United States was “aware” of reports of the latest “unidentified projectiles” launch on Wednesday morning by North Korea, US department of state said it will continue to further monitor the condition.

According to ANI news reports, the US remark comes at a time when the South Korean joint of chief staff (JCS) reported it monitored North Korea firing multiples short-range missiles off the East Coast on the early morning, marking it the third time since May when Pyongyang had conducted a short-range ballistic missile launch.

A spokesperson for the US state department told South Korean state-run Yonhap news agency, while speaking on a condition of anonymity: “We are aware of reports of a missile launch from North Korea and we will continue to monitor the situation.”

The recent launches have come six days after North Korea has fired two short-range missiles into the sea. United States President Donald Trump has downplayed the incident, arguing the nation tested a “smaller missiles” – something that the various number of nations do.

The development has come some less than a month after North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and Trump has held a surprise meeting at the DPRK and further agreed to sit for another summit to work out denuclearization negotiations.

Meanwhile, the National Security Council were undergoing an emergency meeting in Seoul at the South Korean presidential premise in order to discuss the recent launch of missiles by North Korea, as well as, the current situation in the strategic Korean peninsula.
