According to the latest finding of the CVOTER-IANS tracker findings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to be the choice of people over Congress President Rahul Gandhi by leaps and bounds.

CVOTER-IANS conducted a survey on April 19 in which they declared that Modi was ahead of the Congress President Rahul Gandhi by more than 30 percentage points. It said that the first choice of people is Narendra Modi.

A sample size of 11,192,56.83 percentage of respondents named Narendra Modi when asked about who is the best suited for the post of Prime Minister. A total of 21.65 percent of votes were in favor of Rahul Gandhi.

The Prime Ministerial candidature has been retained by Modi since before the Lok Sabha Polls began and even after the second phase of polling the choice remains the same with Narendra Modi leading the statistics. In the first week of March followed by the Balakot airstrike that was conducted after the Pulwama attack, a befitting reply to Pakistan for its terrorist attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been in limelight.

He gained a total of 60 percent of the mark of popularity after the surgical strike 2.0. In the states of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, Modi is the first choice of the voters.

Prime minister Narendra Modi will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Varanasi that is a bastion of BJP. It is still speculation over Priyanka Gandhi nomination in Varanasi over Congress ticket.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi is contesting the Lok Sabha Polls from two parliamentary seats. He will contest in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh against BJP candidate Smriti Irani and in Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi will contest against Thushar Vellapally, the candidate of BJP and BJDS alliance.
