BJP has released its second list of candidates for the forthcoming Rajasthan Assembly Elections. The list contains 31 names in which 15 sitting MLAs including 3 ministers have not found a place. Earlier BJP had released names of 131 candidates. Outgoing ministers Babulal Verma, Rajkumar Rinwa and Dhan Singh Rawat were denied party ticket this election.

The BJP has so far announced the names of 162 candidates in the 200-member assembly. BJP MLA Gyandev Ahuja, infamous for his remarks on JNU controversy 2016 has also not been given a ticket. Currently, he is the MLA from Ramgarh in Alwar district.

The party has fielded four new candidates who had joined the party a few days back including Ashok Sharma from Rajakheda and Mahesh Pratap Singh from Nathdwara constituency.

The party has named four women candidates in its second list. In the first list, the party has introduced 25 new faces while retaining 85 sitting MLAs. The party has not named any Muslim candidate in either of the list.

Yesterday, BJP MP from Dausa, Harish Meena quit the party and joined Congress. Earlier, Ex-BJP MLA Manvendra Singh and two other women BJP members had left the party accusing it to have neglected them.

Assembly election in Rajasthan will be held on December 7.
