Gears 5 as we all know is a third-person shooting video game which is being developed by The Coalition and Xbox Game Studios is publishing it for Windows and Xbox One. The game is all set to go live today on September 10th after early access of  Gears 5: Ultimate Edition was made available for those who preordered it, or everyone who had an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. However, we already have enough details surrounding the server start times, launch maps, and more which The Coalition shared. So without wasting much time, let’s get straight into the discussion and see what the new Gears 5 has to offer us fans.

Gears 5 Release Date:

Gears 5 is all set to roll out today. Even though it is already available for many on Xbox One and PC via the early access which was released on September 5.

Gears 5 Launch Maps:

Players with access to early access already know that the game features 7 multiplayer maps for Arena mode and 4 Hives for Escape mode. Here’s a list of the maps:

Arena:

  • Asylum
  • Bunker
  • District
  • Exhibit
  • Icebound
  • Training Grounds
  • Vasgar

Escape:

  • The Hive
  • The Descent
  • The Mines
  • The Gauntlet

Furthermore, 5 additional maps from Gears of War 4 feature in Gears 5 but they are only limited to ‘Private play’ and won’t show up in any public matchmaking playlists. Here are the maps from the previous edition of the game:

  • Dam
  • Forge Blitz (now just known as Forge)
  • Foundation
  • Harbor
  • Reclaimed

Gear 5 Review:

If we are to go by the people who have already tried their hands on the new title, the game is an excellent combination of perfect plot, enthralling scenery, and real-time gameplay.
