Attorney general William Barr, in a report, said that special counsel Robert Mueller has not found any evidence related to Russia meddling into the 2016 US presidential election’ Donald Trump’s campaign.

According to ANI news reports, Barr has made these statements in his four-page summary which has been culminated on Friday. Barr has sent the summary of the Mueller investigation and report to the Congress on Sunday.

In his summary, Barr said, “The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.”

It also noted Mueller’s investigation said no such conspiracy was found “despite multiple offers from Russia-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign”.

Barr added, “While this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.”

On Sunday, the United States president, Donald Trump, spoke to reporters declaring that the probe against him that has hung over his administration had finally lifted.

Trump said, “After a long look, after a long investigation, after so many people have been so badly hurt, after not looking at the other side, where a lot of bad things happened, a lot of horrible things happened for our country, it was just announced there was no collusion with Russia,” further declaring the findings “a complete and total exoneration”.

He further added saying that it is a shame that “our country had to go through this, to be honest, it’s a shame that your president has had to go through this”.
