India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has on Wednesday claimed India has the “mother of nuclear bombs”, adding New Delhi will never going to yield to what he has described as Pakistan’s nuclear blackmail.

According to Sputnik news reports, while speaking in Surendranagar district at a campaign rally, the prime minister said: “Pakistan would threaten us, saying it has the nuclear bomb and will press the button (if India retaliated).”

Modi said he has decided to tell Pakistan that India have “nuclear (mother) of nuclear bombs”, calling on Islamabad to do “whatever you want to do”, but India will retaliate.

Modi underscored, “In the past, our people would weep, go around the world saying Pakistan did this, did that … It is now Pakistan’s turn to weep.”

The prime minister’s statement has come days after he referred to the Indian Air Force (IAF) air strikes in February over Balakot, stating that Pakistan has been threatening India for a long time with its nuclear capability but the IAF called its bluff with its strikes.

Modi said, “Those days are gone when India would give in to threats. This is a new India and it will strike terrorists well inside their hideouts across the border.”

Modi has earlier made it clear the IAF’s strikes against the “terrorist infrastructure” will be a new policy of India, adding “New India will kill terrorists by barging into their dens”.
