On Friday, tens of thousands of students gathered around the globe to raise their voices in protest of Climate Change. Many of the protestors have called out the inability of the governments to take measures against climate change.

People from Australia were the first one to start a strike against climate change. Many countries today have been troubled by rising sea levels. With the growing population and demand for natural resources like coal and natural gasses, the temperature of the planet has been rising. Many scientists have been sharing a concern regarding the dangers of the rising temperature of the planet especially the polar ice caps.

This comes just days after a group of people below the age of 21 led by Swedish teenager and Climate Change activist Greta Thunberg had testified in front of the US Congress. Thunberg has been one of the most vocal voices against climate change.

With the United States pulling out of the Paris Climate Accords, a growing threat to climate safety has been increasing with the rising temperature of the planet. The demonstrations come a week before the UN Climate Summit in New York.

The protests have started in Sydney, the largest city in Australia, the capital, Canberra and other cities around the world. According to a report in Al Jazeera, at least people in 150 countries will be involved in the strike which will culminate in New York with a march led by Greta Thunberg during the UN Summit on Climate Change.

Countries like Australia and the US have been criticized for not taking concrete steps in order to deal with the global issue. Lately given the changing nature of the climatic conditions, protesters in Australia have asked the government to start taking steps to be carbon-free by 2030.

The Australian government under Scott Morrison was re-elected after it had assured the voters of concrete steps will be taken to reduce the carbon emission. During the state dinner with President Donald Trump, the Australian Prime Minister has also been criticized for not having the climate change summit in his itinerary.

Climate change has been a major issue for the global powers as not only would it create a huge climate forced migration which is going to impact more people. The governments have been urged to correct their energy policies and shift to renewable energy.
