United States President Donald Trump has said on Thursday that both China and American are at “very close” reaching to a final trade deal, while putting an end to a year-long trade dispute between both the powerful economic nations.

According to ANI news reports, while speaking at the Oval Office, the US president was quoted by CNN as saying a trade deal, which he has described as “the granddaddy of them”, likely to be announced “within the next four week or maybe less, or maybe more, whatever it takes”, further describing the possible deal as “very monumental”.

however, Trump was not available for a request to comment over the reports on a summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping likely to take place later this month.

Trump said, “If we have a deal, we’ll have a summit,” adding, “If there’s no deal, we’re not going to have a summit.”

However, the US tariff still poses a threat to their trade deal. While Beijing wanted US tariffs to be removed, Washington has said the cess will continue to remain in place until China complete adhere to a trade deal.

Both the countries have kicked off their ninth round of trade talks in Washington DC, hoping to reach an agreement over trade deal.
