Celebrities in India are stepping into the investor’s shoes as top notch bollywood stars such as Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor including celebrity cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have invested a great deal of amount in various startups.

Now, another rising star of the bollywood industry actor, singer, dancer, writer Ayushmann Khurrana, has infused an undisclosed amount of funding in Helios Lifestyle Private Limited, a startup behind men’s premium grooming products brand The Man Company (TMC).

As part of the investment, besides an investor, Khurrana will also be the brand ambassador of the TMC.

Hitesh Dhingra, founder and MD, The Man Company, said, “With his support, we are going to offer men world-class grooming essentials and empowering them to look and feel their very best.”

The Man Company was launched by Hitesh Dhingra in 2015. The company claims to have a market share of 30 per cent in the beard grooming category.

In 2018, TMC started 1,000 brand touch points including premium salons, large format retail stores, health and beauty stores and exclusive pop-ups.

According to its website, The Man Company focuses to change the societal template of who a man should be and provide an alternative to this definition.

Khurrana said, “The definition of a gentleman has thankfully evolved today, and I believe men should be comfortable to embrace their vulnerability and their weaknesses. It doesn’t make them less of a man. I immediately connected with the philosophy of The Man Company and consider the company as a progressive and extremely inclusive brand whose products I love using.’’

“The company has impeccable business insights, and I will be deeply invested in ensuring that the company grows from strength to strength in the years to come,” he added.
