Bharatiya Janata Party Leader and Union Minister GV Sadanand Gowda on Wednesday organized a meeting of all BJP’s Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs of Karnataka in his residence. All the leaders discussed the issue related to the development of the state.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Sadanand Gowda said, ‘We held a discussion on the development of the state. We discussed all the matters in details and the issues related to the state should be taken up beyond political lines.

He added that in the coming days we are planning to take up the state related issues to the Central Government and will seek relief from the Centre on all such issues.

He further slammed Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and said he has no interest in the welfare of the State.

Apart from the MPs of the state, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, Minister of State for Railways Suresh Channabasappa Angadi were also present in the meeting held at Minister’s residence. Apart from this, Independent MP Sumalatha Ambareesh also attended the meeting. Sumalatha is an MP from Mandya Lok Sabha Seat and defeated Nikhil Kumaraswamy of JD-S. She was supported by the BJP who choose not to field its candidate from Mandya Seat.

In the recently held national polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept the state bagging 25 seats while Congress and JD-S bagged one seat each.

It should be noted that the JD-S and Congress Coalition government in the state is facing threat with many of legislators reportedly upset.

The Congress-JD(S) together has 117 MLAs in Karnataka Assembly earlier with Congress 79, JDS 37 and one from BSP, while BJP has 105 in the 224-member Assembly. The halfway mark is 113.

Congress after Karnataka State Polls last year has extended Support to JD(S) and Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy with an aim to keep BJP out of the power.
