Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy on Saturday blamed the Bhartiya Janta Party
(BJP) led Centre Government of misusing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while asserting that during Congress-led UPA rule there was no intervention in any matter.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy as quoted by news agency ANI said, “During the Congress regime there was no interference in the investigations, in any matter, today the CBI is being misused by the BJP. It is very clear by the case filed by the CBI director against the Additional CBI director.”

V Narayanasamy who has served as the Minister of State (Mos) IN PMO during Congress Regime said, “the integrity of CBI has come down now during the current NDA government.”

In October, the CBI had registered a First Information Report (FIR) against its Special Director Rakesh Asthana in an alleged bribery case. Thereafter, the central government sent him and agency director Alok Verma on leave after both traded bribery

Chief Minister who has been in a power tussle with the Lt. Governor Kiran Bedi on various issues, also objected to Bedi describing her office as the ‘secretariat` although it is only the Lt Governor’s office.

He also slammed Bedi for conducting ‘tests’ for staff of government departments in her office as was done recently for those in the Social Welfare Department. “Who has authorised her to conduct the tests. Is she a college professor or a school teacher to conduct tests,” he asked.

Despite a shortfall in grants from the centre, the Puducherry government had made recorded achievements in health, education and other sectors during 2018, he said. In the year 2019 a “big change will take place and Puducherry’s fiscal position would improve largely and all the present hurdles would disappear.” CM added.
