Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday introduced his Council of Ministers in the Upper House of the Parliament, Rajya Sabha. Prime Minister read out all the names of ministers with their respective portfolios.

It is a customary practice for the Prime Minister to introduce the Council of Ministers after the new government is formed. Rajya Sabha will host its Monsoon session from June 20 to July 26.

The Narendra Modi-led Union Cabinet has 57 Ministers apart from the Prime Minister. On all the Union Cabinet includes 24 Cabinet ministers, 24 Ministers of State and 9 Ministers of State (MoS) with independent charge.

All the 57 Ministers took an oath on May 30 in an official ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The day at parliament started with the joint sitting of both the houses which was addressed by President Ram Nath Kovind. He began his speech by congratulating all the newly elected MPs, voters, Security Personnel and the Poll Commission for their contributions in holding the national elections for the 17th Lok Sabha.

In his address to the MPs of both, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, President Ram Nath Kovind talked about several issues including Triple Talaq, Nikah Halala, NRC, One Nation and One Election. President Ram Nath Kovind also applauded the Central Government over several welfare schemes and initiatives.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a customary practice introduced his council of Ministers in the Lower House of the Parliament, Lok Sabha.

The first session of Lok Sabha began on Monday with the oath-taking ceremony of all the new MPs. While the election to the Lok Sabha Speaker held on Wednesday. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha MP from Kota Om Birla elected to the post unanimously.

In the first session of the 17th Lok Sabha that began on Monday, the new government plans aims to convert 10 ordinances into law. The Economic Survey will be released on the 4th of July a day before. While next day, that is on July 5th, new Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the full-fledged budget in the House.

The government had in February this year presented an Interim Budget.
