Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) on Wednesday approached the Election Commission with a complaint against the Indian National Congress Madhya Pradesh Chief Kamal Nath. Kamal Nath has been accused by the ruling party for allegedly asking for votes on religious grounds.

The BJP has also accused him of hatching a ‘criminal conspiracy against free and fair polls”. In the complaint to the Election Commission, the BJP referred to a video in which the Congress Chief was seen asking groups of Muslim voters to ensure that Muslims across the state should poll 90% of their votes to the Congress.

BJP State Vice President Prabhat Jha who also met the Election Commission Officer regarding the issue and said to lodge a police complaint asking them to arrest the Congress Chief.

While Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta while defending Kamalnath said that he was asking the groups to vote in large number, what is wrong in that? If BJP is accusing us of minority appeasement that why its Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit a Mosque in Indore.

While the state Election Commission officer confirms that he has received a complaint against Kamal Nath. ‘We have made a report and sent it to the Election Commission of India’.

The state will go for polling in a single phase on November 28. The results will be announced on December 11.
