The Indian National Congress on Saturday slammed the Jammu and Kashmir Administration for asking the Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims to cut down their stay in the state. The grand old party racked up the administration saying that rather providing the security they are asking the tourist to cut down their trip.

Taking to Twitter, Congress MP Manish Tewari slammed the administration for ‘surrendering’ to Pakistan.

Congress leader, in a tweet, said, ‘J&K facing Pak sponsored Militancy since Oct 1947. Worst Period 1990-when VP Singh PM supported by BJP & Communists. Neither in Oct-47 nor 1990 did Indian State surrender to PAK like TODAY. Govt should have provided security to Pilgrims/ Tourists rather than asking them to CUT & RUN’.

While Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti also slammed government saying that the valley is on edge again. ‘It’s a travesty that Central govt hasn’t made efforts to reach out & clarify recent developments’, Mufti said in a tweet.

While NC Leader and Former CM Omar Abdullah also raised questions on the recent development. ‘Friends staying in hotels in Gulmarg are being forced to leave. State road transport Corpn buses are being deployed to bus people out from Pahalgam & Gulmarg. If there is a threat to the yatra why is Gulmarg being emptied?’, Abdullah tweeted.

‘I have so many questions & not a single answer. I’ve met people today who occupy important positions to do with J&K, not one of them was able to tell me anything and I’ve been CM for 6 years. Imagine the plight of your everyday Kashmiri who doesn’t know what to believe’, he added in another.

Their remarks come a day after Jammu and Kashmir administration, keeping in view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats, issued an advisory to tourists and Amarnath Yatra pilgrims to cut down their stay in the valley.

Speaking to media, KJS Dhillon, Srinagar-based chinar corps commander Lt. General, told media that agencies have received inputs in last three-four days about possible terror attacks to disrupt Amarnath Yatra. He added that a thorough search operation has been carried out by Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police on the routes.
