Former Haryana Chief Secretary SC Chaudhary on Monday started his second innings by entering politics amidst the ongoing national elections 2019. Chaudhary, 1977 Batch IAS Officer joined Indian National Congress in presence of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.  

Former Bureaucrat joined the Party in Rohtak, said a statement released by the party. He has served as Chief Commissioner, Right to Service Commission in the state for last 5 years before retiring. His term as a CS ended this month only. He took over the charge of Chief Commissioner in the year 2014 after he got relieved from the post of Chief Secretary.

He was appointed the Chief Commissioner by Hooda-led Government in the state in the year 2014.

Speaking on the joining event, Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that addition of former Bureaucrat will definitely go to help the Congress Party.

Congress in the state is contesting on all 10 seats on its own after rounds of deliberations failed with AAP. Congress will take on BJP, INLD and Dushyanta Chautala‘s Jannayaka Janata Party (JPP) who has forged an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party.

Congress has named Nirmal Singh from Kurukshetra, Bhavya Bishnoi from Hisar, Kuldeep Sharma from Karnal and Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Sonepat Parliamentary Seat among others.

In 2014 General Elections, banking of heavy Modi wave, BJP won 7, INLD bagged 2 seats while INC won a single seat.

Haryana has a total of 10 Parliamentary seats and is considered a state where BJP has a stronghold. In 2014 General Elections, banking of heavy Modi wave, BJP won 7, INLD bagged 2 seats while INC won a single seat.

Haryana will vote on May 12 in a single phase to elect new parliamentarians on all 10 seats of the state.
