Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Monday said the Delhi Government will not implement the Central Government’s Scheme – Ayushman Bharat – till the Union Government does not implement in a better way.

Jain criticized the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and said the Union Government first need to provide the scheme in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, Minister in Arvind Kejriwal’s cabinet, said, ‘Almost 70% of patients are coming from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, PM Modi needs to improve facilities there first. He further said that the Delhi Government will not differentiate between rich and poor. Government Hospitals and medical check-up are for all, we would not allow this Yojana.

Slamming the BJP-led Union Government, Jain said that the benefits of the scheme have not reached to patients. ‘BJP only do things on paper, if the policy was implemented well in UP and Haryana, then they must not been coming to the national capital for the treatment and would have been treated their only.

Earlier on Monday, BJP MP from Chandni Chowk Harsh Vardhan soon after taking as said that he will write a letter to Chief Ministers of Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, and Odisha and would ask them to implement Ayushman Bharat.

Responding to query about the plan to give free metro and bus rides to women in the national capital, Satyendra Jain said because of the high fare people can not afford to travel in the Delhi Metro. The population in Delhi metro is getting reduced because of the hike in the fare.

He added that, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal did not use the money to buy a helicopter for him rather he is giving free rides to women for their safety.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday in a bid to provide safer travel experience to women has announced free rides to them in Delhi Metro, DTC Buses and Clusters Buses. Addressing a press conference, AAP National Chief and Delhi Chief Minister said that, ‘Women in the national capital can travel free of cost in Delhi Metro and all buses so that they have a safer traveling experience.

The move is seen as an attempt to reach out to women voters ahead of Delhi State Polls. It came days after party’s poll debacle in the recently held national polls 2019.
