Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday said that he will move the confidence motion in the state assembly on Monday. Talking to media after the BJP legislature party meeting, Veteran BJP said that we have discussed the brief plan about the confidence motion in the party’s legislative meeting.

He added, ‘I will move the confidence motion in the Vidhana Soudha on Monday’. The new BJP government, that came to power last week after unseating coalition government, will face the trust vote on Monday.

An assembly session has also been called for the trust vote of the new government. BS Yeddyurappa added that he will table the finance bill in the house as well.

Day after taking oath as Chief Minister, BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday chaired BJP Legislature meeting at a private hotel and later decided to keep all its lawmakers in the hotel itself.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Unit Ravi Kumar speaking to media after the conclusion of BJP legislature party meeting asserted the confidence of proving the majority in the floor. Kumar, as quoted by ANI, said, ‘We have 105 of our own MLAs while we also have a support of 2-3 Independent MLAs, There will be no issue in proving the majority’.

Speaking to media, he also requested the MLAs of Janata Dal (Secular) and the Congress to extend the support to the Finance Bill.

In the meantime, Karnataka Assembly Speaker on Sunday disqualified 14 more MLAs in addition to three, which were disqualified last week.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader BS Yeddyurappa on Friday took oath as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka three days almost Congress-JDS coalition government collapsed after facing defeat in the trust vote in Assembly.

HD Kumaraswamy led coalition government on Tuesday fell after it suffered a defeat in the floor test of the assembly.

With 20 MLAs defying the party whip and were absent for the floor test, the strength of the 225-member Karnataka Assembly was reduced to 204 with 103 as the halfway mark for a simple majority. JD-S and Congress with 99 votes got defeated by BJP’s 105 votes.
