The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday knocked the Poll Commission of India complaining about the poll violence across the West Bengal allegedly by Trinamool Congress workers. In a letter to West Bengal Chief Election Commission, BJP has on Sunday blamed Trinamool Congress workers of indulging in incidents of violence and vote rigging.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday met the EC Officials in New Delhi. Speaking to media, Goyal said, ‘We gave the Election Commission detailed information of the violence inflicted upon our workers. We reiterated our demand for re-poll for constituencies where violence occurred in 7th phase and earlier phases, particularly in West Bengal’.

The Bharatiya Janata Party further said that the unresponsiveness of the Election Commission indicates its lack of preparedness to tackle the violence in the state.

BJP alleged that “TMC goons” instigate violence at some polling stations of each nine Lok Sabha seats. It should be noted 9 Lok Sabha Seats of the state voted on May 19 in the seventh and last phase of elections.

Both TMC and BJP ever since the start of national polls is in loggerheads. BJP in a run-up to the polls is leaving no stone unturned to make a big dent in Mamata’s Bastion and eyeing a lion share from 42 Lok Sabha Seats.

Just like the last phase, the initial 6 phases also witness similar incidents of violence in the state.

Reportedly, massive unrest and violence conflicts broke out between TMC and BJP workers at College Street on Tuesday last week during the roadshow of BJP President Amit Shah.

It should be noted that almost all exit polls on Sunday after the culminating of last phase predicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return in power.

Almost all Exit polls predicted a clear Majority to Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with above 300 seats. Polls predicted party’s landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand among others.

Exit Polls also predicted BJP making in-routes in West Bengal and Odisha and gaining big in both the states.
