In another setback to Rashtriya Janta Party (RJD) with just days ahead of the national elections, Party Leader Girinath Singh joined Bhartiya Janta Party in the national capital in presence of Union Minister Nirmala Sithraman and others. His exit from the party came days after RJD Jharkhand President Annapurna Devi quit RJD to join BJP.
Singh earlier on Wednesday resigned from the party primary membership. While addressing the presser on Wednesday where he announced his resignation, he dropped hint to join BJP as he said that he will continue to be in political life.
He has on Thursday joined Saffron party formally in a press conference.

Bhartiya Janta Party in the last couple of days has managed to retain its lost ground in Jharkhand. Party in a run to the general elections has managed to take many leaders into its fold including Annapurna Devi from RLD, and two former Lok Sabha candidates of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Party, Prabhat Bhuyian from Palamu and Nilam Devi from Chatra.
BJP is likely to field Annapurna Devi against Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Chief Babulal Marandi from Kordarma Lok Sabha Seat. While Nilam Devi is among the top Choices of the party for Chatra Lok Sabha Seat.

The party in Jharkhand has so far declared candidates on 10 Lok Sabha Seats out of the total 14 Seats of the state.
The BJP who has forged an alliance with All Jharkhand Students’ Union (AJSU) will take on Congress-led alliance comprising Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, and Rashtriya Lok Dal.
Mega Battle of Ballots is slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.
Results for the crucial Lok Sabha Polls will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting. Voting to 14 Lok Sabha Seats of the state will take place in four phases- April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
