As of 5 PM, the election commission has announced results of 35 seats. Congress has won 15 of them, BJP has won 11, BSP 3, CPM 1, Bhartiya Tribal Party has won 2 and 3 seats have been won by independent candidates. Congress is leading on 86 more seats, which makes it a majority for the grand old party. BJP is currently leading on 60 seats and might end up around the 70 mark.

According to the official election comission data, Congress has, till now, won 4 seats in Rajasthan. BJP has won 4 seats and 1 seat has been won by other parties. Other than the won seats, Congress is leading on 98 seats, whereas, BJP is leading on 65 seats. Other candidates are leading on 27 seats.

Congress has called a meeting of its elected MLAs in Jaipur tomorrow to discuss further strategies and also, to select its CM candidate.

Krishna Poonia has won from Shadulpur. Rameshwar Dudi, former leader of the opposition is trailing from Nokha. Shobha Chauhan, BJP candidate from Sojat, is leading by over 32,000 votes.

Ashok Parnami, former BJP Rajasthan chief is trailing with over 33,000 votes. Vasundhara Raje, Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, have both won from their respective constituencies. Vasundhara Raje was up against Manvendra Singh from her traditional constituency of Jhalrapatan. Sachin Pilot was up against Yoonus Khan from Tonk, whereas, Ashok Gehlot contested from Sardarpura constituency in Jodhpur.

Ashok Gehlot seems to have reached out to independent candidates to gather their support as the trends show a touch battle between the two parties. Vasundhara Raje is leading with over 27,000 votes against Manvendra Singh, who had left BJP to join congress just ahead of elections.

Kailash Meghwal of BJP has won. Pratap Singh Khachariyawas has also won from Civil Lines in Jaipur. Col Sonaram Choudhary is trailing from his constituency.

Congress is slightly gaining the vote share in Rajasthan. At this point, the party has 38.4% votes, whereas, BJP is slightly behind at 38.3%. Congress is leading officially on 97 seats and BJP is leading on 78 seats.

As of 11:50 AM, a majority of BJP leaders are trailing from their respective constituencies. Gajendra Singh, one of the ministers in the previous government, is trailing from Lohawat. Kalicharan Sharaf has a lead of fewer than 150 votes in Jaipur’s Malviya Nagar. Vasudev Devnani is leading with just 1200 votes from Ajmer North.

Assembly elections in 5 states have just concluded and the election commission is all set to declare results for all these states. You can follow this page for live updates of Rajasthan assembly elections. The state of Rajasthan has a history of not giving the mandate to the same government twice in the last 25 years. BJP has announced the face of its CM if it gets to power, however, Congress might project either of Sachin Pilot or Ashok Gehlot as CM, if the party gets to power.

Exit polls have given a clear lead to Congress in Rajasthan, however, it is yet to be seen if the grand old party can get to the majority mark of 101.
