After reports of alleged polling booth capturing by PMK functionaries at Pappiredipatty, DMK candidate of Dharmapuri, Senthil Kumar has written to the State Collector demanding re-polling in the constituencies.

Reports alleged that PMK functionaries had captured the polling booths at the Pappiredipatty constituency after which DMK candidate S Senthil Kumar had alleged re-polling in the constituency. In his letter S Senthil Kumar said that the booths 181, 182, 186, 187, 192, 193, 194, 195, 196, and 197 were captured by the PMK functionaries.

Petition filed by Senthil Kumar alleges, ” Multiple votes were cast by a single person with the help of officials at the insistence of PMK booth agents; non- PMK voters were not allowed to cast their vote, PMK booth agents totally captured the booths; CCTV cameras were not covering the polling; and unidentified people belonging to the PMK were allowed to cast multiple votes without any verification as to their valid IDs.”

With regard to his claims the PMK leader responded, “What will happen in polling booth? We will only be in the group; then what? Should I say it openly? Have you understood?

However the returning officer Malarvizhi denied the allegations saying, “We had deployed additional police and CISF personnel in the sensitive booths across the constituency including the 10 booths mentioned by the petitioner. I too have personally visited the booths more than 6 times on the polling day and there was o possibility that the booths were captured.”
