The Central Government on Saturday appointed new Governors in 6 States including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland, and Tripura.
Anandiben Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh is transferred & now being appointed as Governor of Uttar Pradesh. She will be replacing Uttar Pradesh outgoing Governor Ram Naik. While in new appointments, the Centre appointed Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Governor of West Bengal while Ramesh Bais will take charge as Governor of Tripura.
While the Governor of Bihar, Lal Ji Tandon, has been transferred and now being appointed as Governor of Madhya Pradesh. Phagu Chauhan will take charge as Governor of Bihar, and RN Ravi has been appointed as the Governor of Nagaland.
‘The appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices’, said a communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
