People love to show off their creativity in short videos and there is always been an app for them, whether it is Vine or Tiktok. Now Instagram is also stepping in this genre. Instagram is testing an audio-video remix feature. The feature is similar to the “Duet” from Tiktok. The social media giant started its testing in Brazil. The feature will let you make 15 seconds long video where you can add external audio or you can borrow music. The video clips can be added to stories and send over messages or can be posted in a new section of Instagram’s Explore tab called Top Reels.

Instagram launched this feature today and it is available for iOS and Android. Instagram is planning to compete with Tiktok with this new feature. The new feature includes a ghost mode that makes it easier to line up action between cuts by overlaying the last frame of the previous video over the camera view. Instagram’s other features like Boomerang and Super Zoom can also be used for making videos in Reels.

Instagram’s director of product management Robby Stein said the feature is making its debut on iOS and Android in Brazil as users are already very familiar with sharing videos set to music. There are currently no plans to launch it in other countries. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook launched the Lasso app too, it had the same features as Tiktok. The app could not be popular because users had to download a separate app to make videos.
