Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox Series S gaming console. The price is set to be $299.

All eyes are on the launch of Sony’s PS5 and Xbox Series X. As the flagship gaming consoles are in the tussle, Microsoft will launch the Series S gaming console alongside Series X. The series X is also labeled as the ‘smallest Xbox ever’.

Microsoft announced this on Twitter. The console won’t have support for disk-drives. So only digital downloads. The console will feature the next-gen controller, that we will get with the Xbox Series X. The front panel consists of a USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the top panel, there is a circular black disc, which will act as a vent for the system.

The console is powered by a 4TF RDNA2 CPU. The processor isn’t as good as the one on Xbox series X but is fast enough than the current ones. You can expect better frame rates and maybe ray tracing too on this console. Series S will come with support for 1080p Full HD quality.
