Samsung Galaxy A30 and Samsung Galaxy A50

Samsung unveiled its Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 smartphones during MWC 2019, the smartphones come as a part of Samsung’s revamped Galaxy A-series. The two phones come with Infinity-U displays and run on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. The phones are expected to launch in India on February 28, that is tomorrow and ahead of the official launch, a retailer has revealed the Galaxy A50 RAM+Storage options. The Samsung A50 is more premium of the two smartphones with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a triple camera setup. The Galaxy A30, on the other hand, comes with a dual camera setup and rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

According to Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom, the Samsung Galaxy A50 will be launched in India in two variants; 4GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage. When Samsung revealed the Galaxy A50, it also mentioned a 128GB storage variant of the device, however, if Mahesh Telecom is to be believed, the 128GB storage variant of the Galaxy A50 won’t be coming to India. This should not be taken as the final word as Samsung is yet to release the devices in India.

The retailer has not detailed the Galaxy A30, although it is being speculated that one RAM+storage variant of the device will make it to India. Globally the phone was listed to come in two RAM+storage variants: 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage on both the phones can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

According to a press release shared by Samsung Netherlands, the Samsung Galaxy A50 will carry a price tag of EUR 349 which translates roughly to ₹28,100. Although the device will have a different price tag when launched in India, the Netherlands price tag gives us a good idea of what to expect. The global rollout of the Galaxy A30, Galaxy A50 starts mid-March.

The Galaxy A50 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, an octa-core processor, a 25-megapixel front camera, and packs a 4,000mAh battery. The triple camera module compromises of a 25-megapixel sensor, a 5-megapixel sensor, and an 8-megapixel sensor. The device comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB and 128GB onboard storage.

The Samsung Galaxy A30 comes with the same display, an octa-core processor, a 16-megapixel selfie sensor, and a similar 4,000mAh battery. The device features a dual-camera setup compromising of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. It packs 3GB and 4GB RAM options, and inbuilt storage is offered at 32GB and 64GB with the option to expand further using a microSD card slot (up to 512GB).
