Earlier this month, an alleged image of the Snapdragon 855-powered Redmi flagship device surfaced online. Now, a new image of the device has been surfaced online in China showcasing the alleged Redmi smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera and red paint job. The hands-on image of the Redmi device showcase triple-rear camera module on the device. Xiaomi has already announced a Snapdragon 855-powered Redmi smartphone, however, the details about the device including its specifications, launch date, and market availability have not been specified by the company.
Ever since Redmi chief Lu Weibing has confirmed the making of a Snapdragon 855 powered Redmi device, there have been various rumors and speculations about what might the device bring to the table. The device was spotted in an image with Xiaomi chief Lei Jun, and it was also reported back then that the upcoming flagship Redmi device will feature a pop-up selfie camera and an edge-to-edge display.
The new image of the alleged Redmi device surfaced online on Chinese microblogging website Weibo, showcasing the smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera with antenna bans on either side of it, suggesting a metal build. The device can be seen rocking Red color and bears some similarities with the smartphone that was spotted recently with the Xiaomi CEO.
The image of the alleged Redmi smartphone on Weibo is accompanied by a message saying that the smartphone will come with triple rear camera setup at the back, something that can be confirmed through the images as well. A few days ago, a poster showcasing the Redmi 2 with a pop-up selfie camera made its way online claiming to be the highly-anticipated Snapdragon 855-powered Redmi flagship smartphone. Nevertheless, the design of the two phones differs, especially in the terms of the pop-up camera placement. This raises some questions regarding the authenticity of the two devices, therefore the new leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt.
