The DC Fandome virtual event was the highlight of this year. Held from 22-23 August, it revealed the new films coming out from the DC universe. Fans were excited to see the event, which lived up to its hype. Among the films announced is a sequel to DC’s hit 2019 film Shazam! The Zachary Levi starrer’s sequel is titled as Shazam: Fury of Gods.

Notable names, who were present at the event were Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, Meagan Good, and Adam Brody. The much-anticipated sequel is being developed under New Line. Henry Gayden, writer of the first film is going to pen the sequel again, while Peter Safran will produce it.

In May, lead actor Levi had told that the film is under the scripting stage. The film’s original release date was April 2022, though the pandemic forced the makers to shift it to November 2022.

Shazam! follows the story of a teenager, Billy Batson (Aser Angel) who can transform into a superhero, Shazam which Zachary Levi played.

Apart from a sequel to Shazam, teasers for The Batman and Dwayne Johnson starred, Black Adam was also on show at the event. Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut’s teaser attracted the most attention at the event though.

Released in April 2019, Shazam had grossed $366 million worldwide, gaining praise for Levi’s performance, action sequences, and the funny tone of the film.
