The pandemic has taught all of us one thing, don’t take unnecessary risks. The consequences of doing this can be too high. Producers of the 25th installment of the James Bond film, No Time To Die, must have meditated on this fact. They have delayed the film again. Now, it will release on April 2, 2021.

The producing partners on the film, MGM, Universal Studios, and Bond producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli took to Twitter on Friday, to share the news.

No Time To Die would have released in April 2020, had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic. It was one of the first Hollywood films to postpone its release before cinemas shut down in the world due to COVID.

The makers had shifted the film, to release on November 12 in the UK, and November 20 in the U.S. While now, they have shifted even these release dates, because the pandemic is a threat to the film’s business.

Further, Universal studios have also delayed F9, the ninth installment of the Fast & Furious film franchise. Starring Vin Diesel in the lead, the film will now come out on May 28. If it had been released on April 2, then there would have been a clash between it and No Time To Die.

Not only Universal Studios and MGM, but many other studios are also doing the same with their films. No studio wants to lose money, especially when theatres are shut down in Los Angels and New York. Both are the biggest markets in North America for films.

A common reason why a majority of studios are postponing their films is because of Warner Bros. film, Tenet. The Christopher Nolan directed the film, which was the first big Hollywood film to release after months of shutdown.

Expected to do well, the film had underperformed at the box office. This has cautioned other studios.

Among the major films which will now release in 2021 apart from No Time To Die are, Marvel’s Black Widow and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. On the other hand, Universal has also delayed the release of Candyman.

The 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die will see Daniel Craig donning the role of 007 for the last time. Apart from him, the movie stars, Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, and Ana De Armas.

It is not only a setback for the studio but fans of the film too. Patiently they have been waiting for the film, for a long time. Though, they will have to cultivate more patience, as the movie takes time to come out.
