Facebook faced a massive outage on Sunday, the second one within a month. On Sunday, soon after 6 AM ET, many users across the globe started experiencing issues with Facebook and its various platforms, including Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp, according to downdetector.com. The services were down well over 2 hours and users found themselves unable to load fresh content and message each other, nor could they check the service status on Facebook’s developer site. This has happened earlier this month as well, where Facebook blamed a server configuration change. This time, however, Facebook has not yet put out an official statement addressing the issue.

The latest incident of massive outage only adds to the list of problems that Facebook has conjured up lately. The company has still not made a statement on how the passwords of up to 600 million users were allegedly left exposed to some 20,000 employees in the form of plain text.

More recently, the company admitted that it had deleted posts created by its CEO Mark Zuckerberg, over the year, but the company did not get into the details of how that came to happen. Facebook is currently in the process of battling hate speech, fake news, and conspiracy theories, though according to some leaked emails, Facebook was found struggling in some areas.

Facebook has now recovered, with Instagram and WhatsApp starting to function. Nevertheless, Facebook has not yet explained the situation on its Twitter page or developer site.
