Both teams have until now won five titles each and have shown their dominance in the tournament.

The season opener match was played between CSK and RCB.
RCB won the toss and elected to bat first.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Innings
Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis opened the innings for the RCB team.
They both were giving a phenomenal start to their teams and hitting great shots.
Faf was smashing the ball for fours across the ground, and he was looking unstoppable.
Mustafizur Rahman broke their partnership when he took the wicket of Faf.
In the same over, he took the wicket of Rajat, and in the next over, Deepak Chahar took the wicket of Glenn.
RCB were in trouble as they lost five quick wickets as Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Kartik handled the situation.
They both, in the end, started to play great innings, as, through their partnership, RCB made a total of 173/6.
Mustafizur Rahman took four major wickets.
Yash Dayal was called in as the impact player as a replacement for Dinesh Kartik.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Innings
Shivam Dube was called in as the impact player and replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra opened the innings for CSK.
They both started great and were making great shots.
The bowlers off RCB weren’t able to take wickets as the top order of CSK was taking them towards victory.
The top order of CSK in the end took them to an easy victory as they won the inaugural match of the IPL 2024 season.
