Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announce their retirement from the T20I international format.

Team India won the ICC T20 World Cup Trophy on June 29, 2024.

They ended their trophy drought as India won the ICC Trophy after, 2011.

It’s been 13 long years since India last won an ICC Trophy.

And 17 long years later, since they won the ICC T20 World Cup.

On June 29th, in Barbados, they finally did the task and lifted the trophy.

Virat Kohli, after the win, announced his retirement.

He said that this would be his last T20 international playing for India.

Later, in the conference with the press, Rohit Sharma also declared his retirement.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Gurunath Sharma was born and brought up in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

He is the captain of the Indian team in ODI and Test formats.

And was formerly the captain of the team in T20s as well until he announced his retirement.

He is well known for his pull shots, powerful six-hitting abilities, and captaincy.

He holds several records, like most runs in T20 International and most joint centuries in T20 International.

Rohit debuted in the T20I against England on September 19, 2007.

And was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup-winning India team.

Rohit has been playing for more than a decade for the Indian team.

He has been one of the most popular of all also known as the Hitman, the six-hitting machine.

He puts down his bat and says goodbye as he officially retires from the T20 format.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, or King Kohli, was born on November 5, 1988, in Delhi.

He is the right-handed batsman and is also called the backbone of the Indian cricket team.

Virat has been an outstanding batsman across all formats worldwide.

He has always been compared to the god of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar.

Virat’s first-ever T20 match was against Zimbabwe on June 12, 2010.

Since then, he has always been a great part of the team.

He is also referred to as the chase master, and several records bear his name.

Virat was a part of the 2011 ICC World Cup-winning team, in India.

Since his debut in T20 until his last match against South Africa on November 29, 2024.

He played for almost 14 years and has given us immense memories.

As India lifted the World Cup, King Kohli the run machine, the chase master.

He announced his retirement, as now his bat may rest and he passes on the team to the upcoming generation.

Virat ends his career in T20 International at peak as he lifts the World Cup Trophy.
