Rohit and Rishabh leads India team to chase down the total

India’s seam bowlers’ outstanding performance makes them win the first match of the T20 World Cup.

The ICC T20 World Cup has started on June 2nd in the USA and West Indies.

In total, twenty teams are participating in the World Cup.

The teams are subdivided into four groups, each having five teams.

India is in Group A alongside the USA, Canada, Ireland, and Pakistan.

Match Details

India’s first match was on June 5th in New York against Ireland.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first.

The pitch has an uncertain bounce and swing as it was transferred a few months ago.

Ireland Innings

Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling opened the innings for Ireland.

Arshdeep Singh and Mohammad Siraj opened the bowling attack for India.

They started to bowl outstandingly in swing and outswing bowls.

Both the openers weren’t able to understand the bowling.

Arshdeep, in his second over, took both of their wickets.

Lorcan and Harry came in to bat as they tried to build a partnership.

Hardik Pandya didn’t let that happen as he bowled Lorcan.

In the next over, Jasprit’s outstanding bouncer to Harry makes him give Kohli an easy catch.

Ireland’s team was in great trouble as they were losing frequent wickets.

Gareth, in the end, tried to play a short knock, as by his 26 runs, they made a total of 96 runs.

Hardik Pandya took three wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets each.

India Innings

As Rohit and Virat opened the innings, India needed 97 runs to win the match.

It was the first time they were both opening for the India team in the T20 World Cup match.

They both started to get along together as Virat lost his wicket to Mark Adair.

Rohit started to showcase his form by smashing great pull shots.

Rishabh supported him from the other end and scored runs.

Soon Rohit completed his half-century and declared himself a retired hurt.

Suryakumar came in to bat, but he soon lost his wicket.

Rishabh kept on scoring runs as he hit a beautiful six and made India win the match.
