Team India reached the semi-final stage after beating Australia.

India and Australia have been two of the biggest rivals.

Australia beat India in the ICC Test Mace final and the ODI World Cup final.

It was time for Team India to take revenge on them.

If India wins the match, then Australia will almost be out of the tournament.

Then their qualifications will depend on the match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Match Details

The 51st match of the World Cup was in Gros Islet.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first.

India Innings

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli opened the innings for India.

Josh Hazelwood didn’t let it settle as he took the wicket of Virat Kohli.

Then, Rohit Sharma, the Hitman show started.

He started to smash the entire bowling attack of the Australian team.

He was looking unstoppable as he soon completed his half-century.

Rishabh Pant was supporting him from the other end, but later his wicket.

Suryakumar came in as Rohit was hitting marvelous boundaries from the other end.

He got close to his century as Mitchell Starc bowled him.

With his outstanding knock of 92 runs and the short contributions by Suryakumar, Shivam, and Hardik.

India reached a total of 205/5.

Australia Innings

David Warner and Travis Head opened the innings for Australia.

Arshdeep Singh took the wicket of David in the first over.

Mitchell Marsh came in to bat as he and Travis were forming a good inning.

Travis was playing great shorts and soon completed his half-century.

He was looking dangerous again as he was hitting boundaries.

Jasprit Bumrah’s golden arm didn’t let him steal the victory from India.

As he took his wicket, Arshdeep and Kuldeep were also taking frequent wickets.

In the end, Australia wasn’t able to reach the total, as they lost the match by 24 runs.

India, being unbeaten in this tournament till now, has reached the semi-finals.

They will face England in the semis on June 27th at 6 p.m. IST.
