The Afghanistan team creates history as they reach the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Afghanistan has always been an underdog team in the ICC tournaments.

They started their international journey a long time ago.

But in all these years, they have never managed to get ahead of the group stages.

This was the first time after Afghanistan beat Australia and Bangladesh.

And qualified for the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup.

Match Details

The 52nd match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was played in Kingston.

The game was between Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

If Afghanistan wins the game, then they will, for the first time, qualify for the playoffs.

If they lost, Australia would have qualified, and if Bangladesh reached the total before 13 overs.

Or managed to win by a certain margin against Afghanistan, then they would have qualified.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first.

Afghanistan Innings

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran opened the innings for them.

They both started great and formed a good partnership.

They were taking the Innings slow and trying to build a big partnership.

Rishad Hossain didn’t let this happen, as he took the wicket of Ibrahim.

Soon, Azmatullah also lost his wicket as Afghanistan started to lose wickets frequently.

One by one, the batsmen were coming and going.

In the end, they managed to put up a score of just 115/5.

Rishad Hossain took three major wickets.

Bangladesh Innings

Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan opened the innings for Bangladesh.

In the second over of the innings, Fazalhaq took the wicket of Tanzid.

And in the next over, Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets, pushing back the Bangladeshi team.

Litton was trying to achieve the score standing alone, as no one was supporting him from the other end.

Wickets were falling in short intervals, and even the rain was interrupting the game again and again.

Going on, Litton completed his half-century but wasn’t able to make Bangladesh win the match.

They lost all their wickets to a score of 105 runs.

Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan took four wickets each.

Afghanistan won the match and, for the first time, reached the semi-finals of ICC tournaments.
