Gearing up for the Mission ‘Delhi’, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to hold two roadshows in the national capital where polls are due for May 12. Congress General Secretary in the roadshow will seek votes for Congress candidate from North East Delhi – where DPCC Chief and Former CM Sheila Dixit is on the fray.
While Priyanka Gandhi will also hold a roadshow in Delhi South Lok Sabha Seat where Boxer Vijender Singh is contesting his first elections.
During his first roadshow, that will be over 2 KM long, Priyanka Gandhi will cover assembly segments of Babarpur, Ghonda, and Seelampur. In North East Delhi Lok Sabha Seat, Congress has named it’s DPCC Chief and three-time Chief Minister Sheila Dixit. Dixit, 82, is taking on sitting MP and BJP Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari. While AAP has named Dilip Pandey for the mega battle.
While in his second roadshow, that will be over 1.5 KM long, Priyanka Gandhi will cover assembly segments of Deoli and Ambedkar Nagar. It will pass through the lanes of Dakshinpuri, Mehrauli Badarpur Road.
In South Delhi Lok Sabha Seat, Congress has named boxer Vijender Singh. Singh in a run-up to the national elections is taking on BJP sitting MP Ramesh Bidhuri. While AAP has named its national spokesperson Raghav Chadha for the mega battle.
Priyanka’s brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi will be in Madhya Pradesh, with public meetings scheduled in Bhind, Morena and Gwalior through the day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also slated to address a massive rally at Ramleela Ground in the national capital today.
Responding to a query of a scribe about Priyanka Gandhi roadshows, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal slammed Congress and accused it of weakening the opposition. ‘She (Priyanka Gandhi) is wasting her time, why doesn’t she campaign in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh?She’s doing rallies in UP against SP–BSP, she’s doing rallies in Delhi against AAP. Both the brother & the sister aren’t going to those places where there’s a direct fight with BJP’, said AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.
Congress after rounds of deliberations with AAP failed is contesting on all seven seats on its own in the national capital.
Congress eyeing all seven parliamentary seats of the national capital has picked 40-star campaigners including Navjot Singh Sidhu, Shatrughan Sinha, and other top Leaders of the party to seek votes and galvanize support for the party candidates in the national capital.
Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.
All 7 parliamentary seats of Delhi will vote on May 12.
