Vikram Limaye

Vikram Limaye has been recommended by NSE to become the next chief. With SEBI’s approval, this seems likely that he will soon assume the office. He has been proposed to become MD & CEO of the national stock exchange of India.

With the approval, SEBI has put one condition. The condition states that Limaye will have to resign from his post in Committee of Administrators (CoA), which was appointed by Supreme Court to handle the developments at BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). His name was suggested to SEBI over 3 months ago. Vikram Limaye will assume an office which has remained vacate for over 6 months now.

Speaking to media, NSE spokes person Divya Lahiri stated that the approval by SEBI (Securities Exchange board of India) had come on Wednesday. The term of Vikram Limaye will start as soon as he assumes office.

The date of him joining office is not yet clear, however, sources claim that it might take as much as a month for him to be able to join NSE. NSE is planning to register for an IPO shortly, which is expected to be valued at ₹10,000 crores.
