A tit for tat situation for Sushma Swaraj.

She talked about how India too has a visa application pending “for an Indian national Mrs. Avantika Jadhav who wanted to meet her son in Pakistan who was sentenced to death by a military court in Pakistan for allegedly “spying”. She said that she had written a personal letter to Mr. Aziz but didn’t get any response.

Sushma Swaraj tried to slam Pakistan’s external affair minister, Sartaj Aziz for not having “the courtesy even to acknowledge” her letter to him urging he grant a visa to Kulbhushan Jhadav‘s mother.

But later she got to know that last week the Indian embassy in Pakistan rejected the visa application of a woman suffering from cancer who wanted to come to India for treatment. The woman urged Swaraj to intervene but nothing happened.

Pakistani media reports last week said that India has refused medical visas to people from that country. She also said that its Aziz’s fault that Pakistanis in need of urgent medical attention are unable to come to India.

She assured Pakistanis that India is happy to grant medical visas to them. She also pointed out recently changed rules that stipulate Pakistanis wanting a visa for urgent medical treatment must get a letter from Aziz. She assured that the ones who get a letter from Aziz will be given visa immediately.
