Gujarat is going to be poll bounded later this year as the assembly elections in the states are approaching. Though the party has not seen very good days in the political equations in the state, its morale is recently boosted and energised to fight the polls.

Recently after Congress candidate pinned the victory in the Gujarat Rajya Sabha polls by confirming a fifth term for himself, Congress is hanging on to the single ray of hope the party was badly in need of. A lot has changed in the political scenario of the state after Congress party Veteran Shankersinh Vaghela quit the party followed by a few other giving their resignation. Also after much drama recorded of the fight for the Gujarat Rajya Sabha seats things are changing at a rapid pace.

Both Congress and BJP are thriving hard for the upcoming Assembly polls due in December this year.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has begun the election campaign on Monday in poll bound Gujarat by holding a conversation in Ahmedabad. As a part of the campaign, Rahul will review the party’s preparations for the Gujarat elections from the Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront. He will also hold a conversation with all the 182 assembly seat workers and take their feedback regarding the preparations. Through the conversation programme held in Ahmedabad, Rahul will also meet with representatives of NGOs, industrialists and other businessmen and take feedback from them as well.

The Congress Vice-President will also express the party’s expectations from the Gujarat unit and discuss the party’s election strategy for the polls. Also during the meetings and dialogues, Rahul will talk about, how to achieve the goal of winning down 125+ seats in the state and discuss the election strategy.

This is the first time that a dialogue programme is held by Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat. He had conducted similar programmes in Uttar Pradesh during its assembly elections earlier this year. As a part of the election campaign, he had organised the ‘Khat Sabha’ to discuss and listen to the issues faced by the people in UP. However, the ‘khat Sabha’ had been in a lot of controversies as after the meetings were over people looted away the ‘khat’ and this initiative did not prove to be beneficial for the party either.

During the dialogue programme in Gujarat Rahul apart from talking about the election strategy, will also answer the queries of the party members.

Congress has set a target of 125+ seats this time and therefore the party has already begun with its election campaign. Winning a seat in the Rajya Sabha has boosted the Party’s morale. The Congress Vice President is scheduled to visit the poll bound state 8 times ahead of the assembly elections for the campaigning. He will begin the campaign journey from the religious land Dwaraka on 22 Sep.

Also, Rahul Gandhi will participate in the programmes held by four different parties for 2-2 days and the major agenda of these meetings will be on luring the agitated Patidars, OBC and Dalits who are angry with BJP to back Congress.
