Aiming to deal with violent agitators, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath decided to seize property of those found guilty and compensate damage to public property.

He said, ” I have called a meeting over this. You cant indulge in violence in name of protest. We will take strict action against such elements. Will seize property of those found guilty and compensate damage to public property.”

Large-scale violence turned the capital of Uttar Pradesh into a war-zone on Thursday. Massive protests took place against the amended citizenship law, that turned violent in several parts of the city. Protesters were seen pelting stones at the police in Hazratganj locality.

Not just that, media was also targeted by the violent agitators and OB vans were set ablaze. A police chowki and police vehicles were also set on fire by the protesters in Madeyganj. Violence was also reported from old city areas like Khadra where stones were pelted at the police.

Nearly 20 motorcycles, 10 cars, 3 buses and 4 media OB vans were set ablaze in the area around Parivartan Chowk during protests against the CAA. Clashes were also reported from Hussainabad, Daliganj, Teele Wali Masjid and Chhota Imambara.
