electronic voting machine in India

Responding to the claims made by Aam Aadmi Party on EVM tempering, Election Commission stated that the machine used by AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj in the Delhi Assembly is just a lookalike machine and it should not be confused with the EVMs used in the elections.

Election Commission said that it is not to difficult to make a lookalike gadget and program it in a pre-decided way. It could be programmed to function as per the instructions, however, that does not mean that EVMs used in the elections will behave the same. It also added that the EVMs used by EC are hack-proof and they are technically secured and programmed in a way to follow administrative and security protocols.

Election commission further said that this claim will not stop EC from functioning and that the all party meet scheduled for may 12th on EVMs and electoral reforms will go as planned.
