People have a habit of taking good care for their phone and on the other side, a large number of mobiles and other devices get stolen, in every one minute. At present, Samsung’s Care+ covers things like accidental damage and mechanical breakdowns and now it looks like Samsung might extend coverage options for protecting against theft and loss.

A teardown of version 1.0.21465 of Shop Samsung app, new code strings recommends that owners of Galaxy with with Care+ plans would be able to add a subscription which extends coverage to theft and loss.

The subscription looks like an additional one that can be added on top of existing Care+ packages that includes options of $3.99, $8.99 and $11.99 depending on the device covered. Its unclear about how much Samsung would bill for the Theft and Loss subscription but the charges will be due monthly for 36 months or till the coverage is cancelled. Just like the current care plans of the company, customers have to pay a deductible starting from $99 to $269 on claims. There is a maximum of 3 claims within a period of 12 months and lost or stolen phones might be replaced with refurbished models.

Its good to offer the customers who may have butterfingers at the ski chair or might be concerned about sticky fingers at their area.
