Beats Powerbeats Pro True Wireless earbuds was found in the newly released iOS 12.2 update last month. Today, Apple has released the Beats Powerbeats Pro truly wireless earbuds at the price of $250 (₹17,000 roughly). The earbuds come in Black, Ivory, Navy, and Moss color options and will be available for purchase starting from May 2019. The design of the new earbuds is quite similar to the original Powerbeats Pro, with an exception of the connecting cord.
The new earbuds, however, are smaller and lighter in weight. It comes with Apple’s H1 chip–which has also been implemented in AirPods 2, which allows for hands-free ‘Hey Siri’ functionality. The charging case for the Powerbeats Pro true wireless earbuds is quite big and features a lightning port for charging. There is no Qi wireless charging support. Just like the AirPods, one of the two earbuds can be used for listening to music or taking calls.
In terms of battery life, the earbuds, once fully charged, can give up to 9 hours of playback while the case can top that up to 24 hours. The earbuds support Fast Fuel charging and can give up to 90 minutes playback with just five minutes of charging. There is no power button on the earbuds, however, the company has added volume controls in the form of traditional physical buttons on both the earbuds.
Unlike Apple AirPods, that comes with one-size-fir-all, Powerbeats Pro comes with four sizes of ear tips and an adjustable ear hook. The new earbuds can be instantly paired with iOS and can also be manually paired with Android devices. Powerbeats Pro is not expected to be launched in India for quite some time as India is not among the initial list of countries that Powerbeats Pro will be available for purchase starting next month.
