Apple has lost some ground in the Wireless bud market but their AirPods is firm at No 1 spot.

The invention of Wireless buds was itself a great achievement. And Apple’s AirPods have just set the bar in the wireless buds segment. One of the finest accessories ever produced by Apple in my opinion.

Apple’s AirPods just broke the market when they came out last year. The company sold millions of units of AirPods. Soon after many tech giants also started crawling in the market by launching cheaper alternatives to AirPods. Now the competitors are rising and Apple is falling a bit behind.

Compared to last year Apple’s market share in the TWS market has shrunken from 50% to 35%. Xiaomi is in second place with a 10% bite of the pie, followed by Samsung with 6%.

Samsung also offers wireless buds in the range of iPhone’s AirPods. Their new product Galaxy live buds are getting some dope reviews. Xiaomi and other companies like Noise, Beats, etc are providing users wireless buds which are at least $100 cheaper than the above two.

With the drop in price, there is of course drop in quality. Apple’s earbuds, as I said have set a bar and it is very tough to beat. It is very hard to switch from the AirPods if you get the hang of it.

Even the reports state that Apple don’t need to worry about the sales of AirPods. According to reports AirPods sales are expected to grow from 61 million last year to 82 million this year. That’s more than 30% growth.

The cross-platform support feature will definitely support Apple rather than other companies because you are more likely to use the AirPods with an Android device and very less likely to use a Xiaomi or Vivo buds with an iPhone. If you have an iPhone, you will definitely give some extra cash and go in for the AirPods. So for now, even after Apple has seen a fall in the market, there is no threat at all on their first position for a year or two.
