After announcing the film last month, the makers of the upcoming film Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, have finally started rolling the film today. The film, which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Manoj Bajpayee and Fatima Sana Shaikh, is being directed by Abhishek Sharma who has previously helmed films like Tere Bin Laden (2010), its sequel Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive (2016), Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018), The Zoya Factor (2019).
Manoj Bajpayee took to his social media account to share the information of the beginning of the shooting. He wrote, “Shooting शुरू, अब पड़ेगा Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari! Produced by Zee Studios and directed by Abhishek Sharma, our film goes on the floor today.”

Produced by Zee Studios, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is touted to be a quirky comedy where Dosanjh would play a prospective groom while Bajpayee would be seen as a wedding detective and they will be seen engaged in a battle of wits.
While speaking to Mid-Day last month, Abhishek Sharma revealed that he developed the film with the two actors in mind and is confident that it would come on the screen beautifully. “Diljit essays the role of an eligible bachelor who is planning to get hitched. His character lands in a soup when he crosses paths with Manoj sir, who plays a wedding detective. It’s an interesting family comedy with a heavy dose of satire,” he told the publication.
The film is set during the 1990s when there were no social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram to stalk people. And, “that is why wedding investigators were hired,” he told the news daily. Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios, said, “It is a new concept with a powerful cast.”
