Director Radha Krishna Kumar fails in his attempt to connect with the audience from his periodic drama Radhe Shyam. Baahubali famed actor Prabhas’ fans had huge expectations, but the film crashed to meet the viewers’ expectations. Let us see what went wrong, and what actually works in the film.

RADHE SHYAM STORYLINE

The story revolves around the world-renowned palmist Vikram Aditya, played by Prabhas. The drama begins with Vikram Aditya predicting the emergency of 1975 by reading Indira Gandhi’s palm. However, he has to leave the nation, and flee from one country to another after such a vicious prediction. He even lacks love in his life as the ‘love line’ from his palms misses until the day she meets Prerana on a train journey.

Prerana is seen fighting her own battles and she comes to know about Vikramaditya’s prediction during their courtship. The dichotomy here is Vikram Aditya reading her palm that indicates a bright future while the events in her life are pointing in a different direction.

RADHE SYAM CAST PERFROMANCE

Actor Prabhas features the renowned palmist Vikram Aditya. After giving a superhit pan-India film Baahubali, the fans expect a lot from Prabhas. Sharad Kelkar’s voice in Baahubali and Shreyas Talpade’s in Pushpa has set standards for Hindi dubbing. Yet again Prabhas decides to dub in the Hindi language just like in Saaho, which takes away the ample charm of his personality he otherwise has.

Pooja Hegde

Pooja Hegde, however, renders an alluring presence in the film. Other than her beautiful looks and extravaganza visuals, the actress portrays the perfect character of the love interest of Prabhas. On the other hand, Kunal Roy Kapur’s unwanted character keeps on appearing and disappearing in between the shots.

Bhagyashree’s character has a quite restricted role. Satya Raj features Guru Paramahamsa, who is a palmist and runs a school. Paramahamsa’s character is grounded and focus on understanding the conflict between science and astrology.

RADHE SHYAM REVIEW: OUR TAKE ON THE FILM

The dull chemistry between Prabhas and Pooja Hegde is a total disadvantage in the love story. This even impacts their individual performances, although the duo made efforts to portray their roles cogently.

The screenplay is chaotic with pointless moments, unwanted characters in the story, and a few unexplained situations in the film. Overall, the film that talks about unconditional love, time and destiny, having a stale screenplay is a huge disappointment. Prabhas’ character of a palmist is so irrelevant that he even fails to predict the boring fate of his own film.
