Bharat Ke Veer Akshay Kumar

With the Republic day coming close, Akshay Kumar sets his own gift for the country. He launched an app called Bharat Ke Veer which is set to be a platform for the Indian citizens to help the martyrs families of whom have perished under service.

The app was launched by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on CRPF day April 9, 2017. After the home ministers address, Akshay took on to say that this is a much-needed request that has to be implemented. With over 8 lakh visitors and counting the app continues to grow an emotional bond between the families of the ones that protected us and ourselves. It allows a maximum donation of 15 lakh and if it exceeds the family of the recipient will be informed and can decide whether to decrease the amount or divert the contribution to another Bravehearts account or to the Bharat Ke veer corpus.

The Bharat ke Veer corpus will be managed by a committee of eminent persons of repute and senior government officials, who would decide to disburse the fund equitably to the Bravehearts family on the need basis.

Akshay Kumar is a recipient of many honorary awards such as the National film award, a two time Filmfare award winner as well as the recipient of Padma Shri. With over hundred movies and unbelievable success rates, it is no wonder as to why this man is considered as most successful by Box office India. But he steps down to say that this initiative is not about him as an actor but rather the son of a Military officer. He continues by stating that we are not doing any favor, in fact, it is our duty. He is known to extend his support many a time and has personally donated 1.09 crores to 11 families.

An idea that came to Akki approximately 3 months ago was implemented within no time with help of Home Minister and the government of India which supported the cause strongly. The total number of contributions have come up to 108841 with a total collection of 12.93 crores. Akshay continued to promote this action through tweets where he said that the martyrs die so we might live and the least we can do is take care of their loved ones.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
