Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan says that at this age and at this time of his life he is just seeking peace. His name is featuring in the Panama papers and Bofors scandal and on this, he said that he always cooperated with the system but now he wishes that at this stage of his life he should be left alone.
The actor is one of the over 700 Indians and they all are figuring in the Paradise Papers. The entire investigation into the offshore and the banking assets was carried out by the newspaper along with the International Consortium of Investigation Journalist. However, this thing has not been cleared that the actor knew about the Paradise Papers beforehand or that his name was going to figure in the list.
Amitabh Bachchan’s post began with the response to a BMC notice sent it to him for the alleged illegal construction on his property and he went further to discuss his experience after he was named in the Panama Papers, another ICIJ investigation, and the Bofors gun payoff scandal. However, Amitabh did not mention the Paradise papers.
He further said that at this age of his life he just want peace and freedom from the prominence and he appealed that he should be left to lead the last few years of his life with and within himself. He is yet to receive the notice from the BMC, according to the recent reports, Amitabh’s lawyer has already issued the statement on this matter.
Amitabh says that in the recent month he found his name appears again in the leaks of Panama and the papers have asked him for the reactions and they have even asked for the response, and for the justification or not for the replies to their investigative queries.
On this actor said that the two instant replies were given out by him one for the denial and another for the misuse of the name, but he says that the question still continued. He feels that there are some of the queries which take time and this matter is more than 25 years old. This matter while actually take a while to dig out the old files and to compile all that they want. The fullest cooperation has been extended at all hours as a dutiful citizen and even after this if there are any more query that needs to be addressed than they should comply with them it is their norm.
Moreover, he says that there are allegation against his family as well and him in the Bofors scandal and for the years he and his family were grilled in that and they declared the traitors, abused and humiliated by the hours and after that when it becomes unbearable for them then they have moved in the court of the United Kingdom.
It almost took 25 years for him to know that his name was planted and there are many who said that he would seek retribution after his name was cleared or seek information on who had planted his name. He says that the retribution took away the years of suffering and mental torture that he and his whole family went through. However, he has said in the media that this matter is over for him.
