The Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) tier 1 has been declared postponed by the host Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on July 19. Initially the exam was going to be conducted on August 1, now rescheduled to August 5.

The Commission made a public statement, In partial modification to the earlier announced date(s) of the said examination from 1st August, 2017 to 20th August, 2017, the Commission would now be conducting the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017 from 5th August, 2017 to 24th August, 2017.”

The notification continues to inform that SSC CGL will not be conducted on August 7, 13, 14 and 15, 2017.

According to an internal report of the commission, it had received 30,26,598 online applications for the CGL tier 1 exam. Although no date has been specified as to when the admit card will be released, it can be expected that the link will be activated by the next week. The notification for Combined Graduate Level recruitment was released on May 15 this year, and the last date to apply was June 16.

Their are four stages in the SSC CGLE- Tier –1, Tier –2, Tier –3 and Tier –4. To qualify for the next round, as obvious, the candidates must clear the previous level.

There have been some big changes and alterations that the Commission is introducing in the SSC CGL 2017 pattern along with the selection procedure. One of these major alterations is altering the exam time of tier 1 from 75 minutes to 60 minutes.

On the brighter side, new posts have been unveiled, like the post of Assistant Accounts Officer (Post code – $ and Grade Pay – 4800) introduced in the Department of Indian Audits & Accounts under CAG this year.
