The schedule for counselling of candidates who have cleared the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 which is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The counselling process is scheduled to begin on June 3 and continue till August 16 this year. August 4 will be the marking date of the beginning of the academic year of MBBS and BDS courses. The 15% of the general category seats will be taking the counselling online.

The result was declared by the CBSE on June 23 announcing 6,11,539 candidates qualified.

Round 1:

July 3 to July 11 (until 5 pm) – Registration, choice filling and indicative seat
July 12 (until 5 pm) – Choice filling and locking
July 13 and 14 – Seat allotment
July 15 – Results
July 16 to July 22 (until 5 pm) – Reporting at the allotted medical or dental college

Round 2:

August 1 to August 4 (until 5 pm) – Exercising of choices, locking and new registration
August 5 to August 7 – Seat allotment
August 8 – Result
August 9 to August 16 (until 5 pm) – Reporting at the allotted medical or dental college
August 16 (after 5 pm) – Transfer of vacant seats to state quota
