Tehran, Sep 14: Germany, the United Kingdom (UK), and France alongside the European Union (EU) has communicated worry over Iran activity to reduce obligations to landmark 2015 nuclear arrangement and asked Tehran to “refrain” from any further advances that are conflicting with its duties under the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) accord.
“France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the High Representative express their deep concern over Iran’s announcements and actions in contradiction with its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] has confirmed in its extraordinary report of September, 8 that advanced centrifuges have been installed or are being installed in Natanz. France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the High Representative are deeply concerned by these activities,” Sputnik quoted the joint statement.
“They continue to support the JCPOA and strongly urge Iran to reverse all activities that are inconsistent with its commitments under the JCPoA and to refrain from any further steps. They call on Iran to cooperate with the IAEA on all relevant matters, including safeguards issues,” the statement read.
It was the third time this year Iran had reported that means to damage the points of confinement under the arrangement.
“We have started lifting limitations on our research and development imposed by the deal,” Behrouz Kamalvandi, the Iranian nuclear agency spokesperson said. “It will include the development of more rapid and advanced centrifuges.”
“The European parties to the deal should know that there is not much time left, and if there is some action to be taken [to rescue the nuclear agreement], it should be done quickly,” he added.
Iran’s transition to advance Uranium comes days after the US slapped sanctions on Tehran’s space organization, blaming it for masking a ballistic rocket program.
Iran on Wednesday said the sacking of White House national security advisor (NSA) John Bolton will not result in direct talks between Tehran and Washington.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has urged the United States to put an end to its diplomatic sanctions and “maximum pressure” policy on his nation and said Iran would continue to cut down its obligations to the 2015 landmark international nuclear deal, if needed, state-run television reported.
Last year, President Donald Trump pulled America out of JCPOA pact, under which Tehran agreed to curb its nuclear programme in exchanges for sanction ease and access to foreign trade.
